Work has commenced on the refurbishment of the five-storey Grade II listed building on St John Street, Clerkenwell, which accommodates the George and Dragon pub. The building has remained vacant for four years.

Having recently secured listed building consent and planning permission, our scheme adopts a conservation-led approach, seeking to preserve and enhance the building’s historic fabric wherever possible, while introducing carefully considered functional improvements.

The ground-floor pub will be reinstated, while the established restaurant Island is set to relocate to the first floor. Upper levels are being refurbished to provide ancillary client offices, with selective openings introduced within existing walls to improve connectivity between rooms and create a more functional layout.
