Planning was granted last night for works to Keltan House. The decision, made by Hackney Planning Committee was unanimous.

Planning Officers supported the scheme stating “the proposal will provide a range of employment benefits that will enhance the attractiveness and business function of both the building and the surrounding area, through securing higher quality, more flexible floor-space that meets modern requirements”.

The application covers physical alteration to the building plus the change of use of the ground floor from office (B1a) to a flexible (Sui Generis) space. The application site is located in the Mare Street Priority Employment Area (PEA). This PEA has been granted National exemption from the Government’s Office to Residential change of use permitted development right 2013.
